THE HURRICANE HARVEY STORIES:
August 27, 2017 - Not everything recognizes and stops with the powerful impact and challenges presented from a Hurricane, and Nicole tells us how the continuation of necessary tasks - children suffering terrible coughs that keep them (and everyone else) awake at night - must also be accommodated. So, like all parents from our interviews, she makes the necessary sacrifices: wakes early (4:45 AM) to get her children off to school; her husband now traveling by bus daily (extending his commute by hours); the necessary travel from store to home, unable to carry the same quantities of groceries without a car; etc. And yet, in the midst of it all, Nicole, like all of the people from our interviews, keeps a positive attitude. She does not believe circumstances should define us, as everything changes over time. "(But more often than not), things have a way of working out for our best." Thank you for sharing your story with us.
