Earth Shattering is a work of performance art by HCC Faculty Artist and Professor, June Woest. It was exhibited in a one hour period on a path across campus that stopped at three different locations on the Southeast College campus. Its performance date was within weeks of the devastating Tsunami that hit Japan on March 11, 2011, which additionally resulted in a nuclear disaster, shattering people’s lives, the environment, and Japanese culture. Students, faculty, and staff who showed interest in the performance as it made its way across campus were quizzed on the location of the South Texas Nuclear Generating System, just 80 miles to the south of campus.
