THE HURRICANE HARVEY STORIES:
August 27, 2017 - Like many of our students at HCC, Brittany works, attends school, commutes, etc. and admits she was so busy with work, school, daily tasks, etc. that she had no awareness Houston was in the path of Hurricane Harvey. At work when the Hurricane hit, she was sent home and only after receiving phone calls of concern from family and friends, did she realize the gravity of her situation. Her story illustrates how tragedy can sometimes teach us valuable lessons about fear. And can pull people together to put aside their anxieties, hurts, and conflicts from current and past moments, to connect on the things that matter most - living with the affection and concern of those around us - family, friends...and even strangers. Thank you Brittany for sharing your story with us.
This project was completely done using HCC's Digital Storytelling tools as part of HCC's Digital Storytelling initiative. Tools used include WeVideo, Listening Stations, microphones, and iMacs.
