We start the week on Monday with a new floor after returning from Spring Break. This floor makes the lab more inviting, and we are very thankful to our campus administrator for their unwavering support.
That same day we hosted the HVAC Project Design Class where they kept working on designing an HVAC Commercial system for our Culinary Arts building.
We then hosted the Interior Design portfolio class and when they began creating their avatars for the Reveal24.
Right after the same day, we hosted the Metaverse Design Class for Interior Designers, where students started the process of porting their SketchUp and Revit Commercial designs to create their Metaverse Spaces.
Thursday was a testament to the hold Immersive Technologies has at HCC and the innovative spirit of our faculty to challenge and engage our students. We began with Prof. Jackie Barry’s Residential Design class where we introduced them to the lab and resources available to them. They were introduced to simulation visualization workflows and the immersive tech we have in the lab.
That same day, we hosted students from Prof. Danielle Staggs's class and a few came to the lab individually to record their speeches using OvationVR. We are so thrilled about the possibilities of this program and pilot.
We then hosted the Commercial Design Class where students learned about simulations, visualizations, and storyboarding walkthroughs of their designs. They were also very excited to learn about Polycam app and its lidar capabilities for room capture. With its AR capabilities and blueprints.
We ended the day with our Digital Video class, going over the “Day in my Life Project”
We started the day early at 9 am on Friday hosting Prof. Brian Mahon biology class in the Am and then also at 1 pm. They were introduced to Nano before, and now they have come to produce a recording of their interactions as we humbly wait for more students to practice their speeches using OvationVR.
We are thrilled and humbled to host the faculty and students in what we think is a new place with the new floor.
